We are a group of street performers based in Bath, UK, created in 2005 by Ian Gilchrist with the support of the Widcombe Association. Our scripts are carefully crafted to encourage our much anticipated and cheered off-script divagations.

We write scripts, design costumes, engineer props, compose music, write lyrics, direct, photograph, produce mocumentaries and organise celebratory toasts, supported by wonderful volunteers.

Exuberant characters provide stupendous entertainment by repurposing traditional elements of Mummers plays - our hobby horse is second to none and our vigorous sword fights are legendary - with parodies of local and national trifles. We have been featured in books, films, and the London Olympics!

Widcombe is our pitch - we celebrate every New Year’s Day with the community with three lavish performances.  We create plays and perform on request for other occasions: at local traditional events and celebrations of national events.
